ShastaReady aims to help improve the safety, resiliency, and efficiency of our regional transportation system in the face of extreme weather events. One area of particular interest is how to optimize the efficiency and safety of evacuation routes, emergency ingress, and detours during emergencies.
The proposed scope of work will emphasize stakeholder collaboration, developing “lessons learned” from recent events such as 2017’s flooding and the 2018 Carr Fire, and addressing vulnerable populations such as the elderly and disabled.
Work on the plan is anticipated to begin fall 2019 and be completed by fall 2021.
