Shasta 2019 FTIP Formal Amendment No. 10 - State Approval Recommendation Issued


Formal Amendment No. 10 the the 2019 Shasta Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP) includes the following:

  • funding and programming for the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) based on RABA’s April 20, 2020 approved budget; 
  • updates the region’s Highway Bridge Program to the Caltrans HQ approved version of March 31, 2020; 
  • adds a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Section 5310 award for the purchase of two vehicle shuttles for Dignity Health Connected Living; and 
  • delays local funding for the Downtown to Turtle Bay Non-Motorized Improvement Program project.  

For information, since the projects are outside the active years of the 2019 FTIP, the amendment: 

  • programs additional regional funds to the Fix 5 Cascade Gateway Project (formerly Interstate 5 North Redding Six-Lane) for the development of changeable/moveable lanes to facilitate freight and traveler mobility and safety; and 
  • adds regional match funds to the proposed Cottonwood Lasso Bicycle/Pedestrian Project.

Shasta 2019 FTIP Formal Amendment No. 10 was approved by SRTA on May 20, 2020 and submitted to Caltrans, Headquarters Programming for recommendation of approval to the US Department of Transportation (DOT).  The state recommendation of approval was issued May 22, 2020 to US DOT.
